Di saat duduk berdua di sesi foto itu, sambil berselfie saya bisikkan. “I am proud of you Sister. And I will continue to support you and pray for you”. Dia memandang saya dengan tersenyum seraya menggenggam kedua telapak tangannya sebagai simbol kedekatan dan “ukhuwah”.

Di penutup diskusi sebenarnya saya juga sampaikan bahwa “legally and constitutionally you do represent your constituents. But morally you do represent all of us American Muslims. And thank you for that great representation on our behalf”.

Ilhan, you did open the door for many of us to follow. Thank you and may Allah continue to strengthen and guide you to take all endeavors that benefit the Ummah and humanity…Allah bless you!
